Candied Yams with a Spin from the Original Version. No sugar.

Recipe

Here's a healthier take on candied yams, with wholesome substitutions for each ingredient!


--- Candied Yams 2.24


Ingredients:

- 4 cups raw yams or sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced

- 1 cup fresh pineapple, finely diced

- 1 cup date paste, or date power, sweeten to taste. 

    (for a rich, natural sweetness to replace brown sugar)

- Homemade marshmallow topping (see instructions below)


Instructions: Yams

1. Prepare the Yams/Sweet Potatoes: You can slice and boil first or Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). 

    Arrange sliced raw yams in a baking dish.

2. Add Fresh Pineapple: Sprinkle the fresh diced pineapple over the yams.

3. Sweeten with Date Paste: Drizzle date paste evenly over the yams and pineapple for natural caramelization and sweetness. Make your own, allow to soak in boiling water the puree.

4. Bake: Cover the dish with a lid and bake for 25-30 minutes until yams are tender.

5. Top with Marshmallows: Prepare the homemade marshmallow topping as directed below, spread it over the baked yams, and broil for 2-3 minutes until golden and slightly toasted.  You can also layer your marshmallows with the yams and pineapples if you choose to cook the yams first.

Homemade Marshmallow Topping (without added sugars)

For a alternative marshmallow substitute, try a recipe based on gelatin, water, and your choice of sweetener like honey, maple syrup, date syrup.


Ingredients:

- 3 tablespoons gelatin powder

- 1 cup cold water, divided

- 1/2 cup honey or pure maple syrup (or sweeten to taste)

- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1. Bloom Gelatin: In a large mixing bowl, sprinkle gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.

2. Heat the Sweetener: In a small saucepan, combine the remaining 1/2 cup water with honey or maple syrup. Bring to a gentle boil, then pour the mixture into the gelatin, adding vanilla.

3. Whip to Marshmallow Fluff: Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip for 10–15 minutes until soft peaks form.

4. Apply Topping: Spread the marshmallow topping over the yams and broil as directed above. Pour the rest into mold to enjoy with coffee or tea and straight out of the "bag"

This version uses ingredients like date paste and fresh fruit for sweetness, creating a deliciously healthier dish without refined sugars or canned options.

Cranberry Cannabis Gummies, duel dosing for healthy flora with a few drops of Wild Orange Essential.

Recipe

Place Cannabis Concentrate container in cup of hot water to soften


Divide Cranberry Juice into to glass measuring cups one with 1/4 cup of juice


Add the 4 packets of gelatin to the 1/4 cup of Cranberry Juice, blend.  Allow to bloom 5 minutes


Place gelatin bloom in microwave container in microwave for 30 seconds heating and gently mixing until liquid consistency.


Remove from microwave, add to the bloomed gelatin 1/4 tspn of Lecithin, blend well.


Add to the bloomed gelatin the softened Cannabis Concentrate, blend well


Add to the cool Cranberry Juice your desired Essential Oil, (I like Peppermint and Lime Essential Oil) blend well


Add the cool Cranberry Juice to the gelatin bloom blending well while combining.  


Pour the Crannabis Mixture into your molds, refrigerate, enjoy your dosage.

Chocabis Gummies

Yum! DIY Chocolate Gummies.  Ask MarZia how she makes her Peppermint Chocolate Cannabis Gummies.

Recipe

Place Cannabis Concentrate container in cup of hot water to soften


Divide 3.5 ounce package of chocolate squares breaking them into glass measuring cup, microwave at 30 second intervals, mix until melted.


Add the 4 packets of gelatin to the 1/2 cup of Coconut water blend (or desired liquid).  Set aside allow to bloom for 5 minutes.  


Place bloomed gelatin in microwave for 30 seconds intervals, mix until liquid. 


Add Cannabis Concentrate to bloomed gelatin, mix well


Add desired Essential Oils to melted chocolate, blend well


Add bloomed gelatin to melted chocolate, blend well then pour into molds.  Refrigerate, enjoy your desired dose.

Phoannabis Gummies

Pho Bone Broth Gummy with Turmeric and Pepper Essential Oils.  LOVE, Love, Love these so nutritious!

Recipe

Place Cannabis Concentrate container in cup of hot water to soften


Divide 1/4 cup of Pho Broth aside for gelatin bloom add balance into glass measuring cup, microwave at 30 second intervals, until broth is melted and warm.


Add the 4 packets of gelatin to the 1/4 cup of Pho Broth, blend well.  Set aside allow to bloom for 5 minutes.  


Place bloomed gelatin in microwave for 30 seconds intervals, mix until liquid. 


Add 1/4 tspn of Lecithin to bloom gelatin, blend well


Add Cannabis Concentrate to bloomed gelatin, mix well


Add Turmeric and Black Pepper Essential Oils to warm Pho broth, blend well


Add warm Pho Broth to bloomed gelatin, blend well then pour into molds.  Refrigerate, enjoy your desired dose.
